Sarah Farrar

Marketing & Research Director

I started my working life in Events, as Events Co-Ordinator at The Royal Society of Edinburgh (Scotland’s Royal Society).

I then moved into Marketing, becoming a Planner at The Leith Agency, Scotland’s leading advertising agency.  From here I became a Strategic Marketing Manager at The Scottish Government.

With the move from Scotland back to England and the NW, I focussed on research and became a NUS’s (National Union of Students) Research Officer.  At the same time, I completed a qualification in the MRS’s (Market Research Society) Advanced Certificate in Market and Social Research Practice.

In recent years I’ve been working around my young family as a Freelance Marketing and Research Consultant, helping businesses with their research, marketing and events.

I conduct qualitative research (one-to-one interviews, focus groups) and quantitative research (online surveys), giving clients insights to create more effective marketing strategies.

As such Parsonage offer clients the opportunity to conduct research with their staff.  Previously this has taken the form of staff engagement online surveys, informing client’s employee benefits strategies.

Recently I have been developing skills in web design for the sparkling new Parsonage website(!) and developing the business’s social media strategy.

Ideal Out of Office?

On hols, soaking up the sun poolside somewhere, with a good book.

What’s in your mug?

Tea, tea and more tea!  My go-to option is a vat of strong Lady Grey with a good dollop of milk.
