I am in my 30th year as a Financial Adviser / Planner and have loved, and continue to love, every minute.
My clients include Barristers, Lawyers, CEO’s, Finance Directors, Doctors, Business Owners & Retirees.
I started in my profession with a major Canadian insurer Manulife Financial as a ‘tied’ adviser, and then moved to the Independent Adviser sector in the mid 90’s.
There have been many changes in the industry in my time as an IFA, however one thing remains constant, and that is helping people to achieve their financial planning aims and objectives by listening carefully to them, applying common sense, and then putting in place where required, good quality protection, investment and retirement products in order to achieve each client’s respective goals whatever they may be.
My passion for our profession has resulted in me being involved in a number of our industries professional bodies.
I am currently an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute, and a member of The Personal Finance Society, and in the past, I was Vice Chair of the Manchester Branch of The Institute of Financial Planning.
I was also heavily involved for many years with the Life Insurance Association acting at different times as a committee member, Chairman of the Manchester Branch, and for three years, Regional Chairman looking after a number of North West branches.
My proudest achievement in my voluntary work is that in 2001, from 25,000 members of the Life Insurance Association, I was awarded the ‘Volunteer of the Year’ award for outstanding contribution to the society.
Ideal Out of Office?
Spending time with my wife and two grown up daughters, playing league Table Tennis with my colleagues at Heyes Grove & Hale Barns TT Clubs, watching mainly Rugby League, Boxing, Cricket , Football & Golf (well any sport really!)
What’s in your Mug?
Daytime, mainly coffee, water, and the occasional cup of tea. Evening time, a glass of Merlot.
